Gurpurab is a Sikh festival or special day is called “Gurupurb”, meaning “Guru’s remembrance day”. The celebration is generally similar for all Gurpurabs; only the hymns and history of a particular occasion is different. The ceremony for Guru Nanak’s birthday, Guru NanakJayant.
Baba nanak ji sayings:
his (god) compassion is beyond all description.
the lord's gifts are so great he expects nothing in return.
all creation is his (god) name;
there is no place that is not his name.
countless are the names and the places where you (god) dwell,
countless worlds that have never been reached.
to say countless is to burden the mind.
those in whose heart rama (god) abides
never die nor can be cheated.
his (god) is the timeless form.
never born, self-creating.
he is attained by the guru's grace.
